Tanzania – A Tourist Hot Spot

The beautiful, enigmatic African country of Tanzania beckons you to its beguiling aura beautified by mountainous caverns, mystic wilderness of the numerous National Parks, rich culture, historical extravaganza, and the picturesque snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. From thrilling safaris to electrifying tours to the lush mountains, Tanzania provides its tourists with an experience which leaves an indelible impression on the minds.

Behold the majestic halo of the white snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro at a height of about 19,340 feet amidst the glory of the Tropics. A trekking and Safari tour to this scintillating venue is a much awaited for and pleasurable experience that remains unforgettable throughout one’s life.

If Mount Kilimanjaro endows you with a feeling of serenity and calmness, the grand National Museum of Dar es Salaam reflects the exalting culture of Tanzania – the myriad eras like the Kilwa period, the English colonial rule, the heartrending account of slave trade and the final emancipation and independence. The traditional and ethnic items such as pieces of jewelry, head dresses and musical instruments adorn the shelves of the Museum, while the garden area comes alive with the effigies of the twelve Tanzanian martyrs who met death bravely while bombing the American Embassy in Dar es Salaam.

The Pugu Hills Forest Reserve is no less fascinating, given its significance as the point of Msimbazi River’s source and the innumerable animals that it gives shelter to. A highly protected and preserved area, one gets to see the cheetahs, lions, hippos, black and white Colobus monkeys, bushpigs and giant elephant groups wandering amidst the green wilderness of the forest. If you are especially zealous about trekking, the trails along the nearby town of Kisarawe provide excellent trekking and hiking opportunities overlooking the scenic Dar es Salaam.

Nature lovers will simply be swept off their feet to behold the magnificence and bounty of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. Derived from the Maasai name, the Serengeti, true to its meaning of “endless plains” is a mesmerizing sight to contemplate, with lush green plains of short grass extending far and wide. Amidst this sprawling vista of green landscape dwell millions of animals such as zebras, gazelles, big cats and a plethora of other animals, making it the favored ground for Great Migration. The rippling crystal clear water of the Grumeti River is simply a splendid spectacle as you watch the animals in their attempts at migrating to this ravishing niche.

Tanzania is brimming with such outstanding places of interest, and visiting this country is something one will cherish for the entire lifetime.
