Things to Do at Riu Ocho Rios

For nature lovers, or vacationers just trying to enjoy a bit of tropical scenery while they relax, Riu Ocho Rios offers several amazing natural attractions within 5 miles of the resort grounds.

Chukka Cove: This beautiful farm and stable offers horseback rides that accommodate both beginners and expert riders. They also offer some extraordinary mountain biking through the beautiful Jamaican hills, leading down to the white sand beach and an ocean plunge!

Cranbrook Flower Forest: This is an enormously beautiful park that’s great for picnicking or a cool hike along the Laughlands Great River, which ascends into a gorgeous waterfall point.

Dolphin Cove: This natural dolphin cove allows vacationers to swim with dolphins and other aquatic creatures while exotic birds and lizards hang out in the rainforests that surround the waters.

Dunn’s River and Falls: A tourist-must, this network of waterfalls can be climbed by guided tour. Be prepared to get wet!

Water Sports at Riu Ocho Rios

Tons of cool water activities are available on or near the hotel grounds. Some of the popular scuba dives include the Wreck of Katryn, a 50-foot dive to the sunken 150-foot minesweeper and Jack’s Haul, a 40-foot dive with a huge array of coral reefs. There are a number of fishing and sailing options around the resort grounds, as well.

Most of the late night clubbing takes place on the actual resort grounds, but there is also a cool stretch of James Street known as the Reggae Strip. The strip offers a bunch of cool eclectic restaurants and clubs, including the ever-popular nightspot, “Jamaic’n Me Crazy.”

A total of 13 bars and restaurants line the resort grounds to suit traveler’s tastes around the clock. Everything from a Rastafarian swim-up bar to Sir Richard’s a la carte Gourmet Restaurant cook up delicacies and world cuisine for travelers.
